My garage cleaning helpers got a little creative, then a little tired....
We were thinking her eyes were green, then hazel, but now they are most definitely brown just like the rest of us.
I love this little dress, and I love her.. and her fat little block feet.
drinking buddies.
The weather has been perfect! Beautiful!
He's pretty perfect too!
Hannah loves to play peek a boo in the toy closet.
No need to worry with my tiny solders around.
We have been having a lot of fun grilling outside lately. S'mores are a well anticipated desert.
Heath made these. They crack me up. I love this picture.
Gage liked watching us eat S'mores.
We have been doing a lot of bike riding.
I love these kids!
Grandpa Hansen got the boys the best Christmas present EVER! We took it out for it's maiden voyage and couldn't stop. We take it to the park almost every time we go now. It's way too much fun!
It's a stomp rocket launcher.... and it is amazing!
Levi is Houston's best friend. Which works out well because Liz and I get along really well too. : )
This was a conversation the boys had:
Heath-
"Houston you are my best friend."
Houston (very matter of factually) -
"Levi is my best friend."
Heath -
"Yeah, he is. But you're still mine."
We love having a friend who is just as crazy and fun and energetic as we are.
The primary held a mini mission activity. The boys were so excited about it. They shined up their shoes and got their scriptures ready and wore some of Daddy's old Elder Hansen missionary tags.
They both got to hear all about missions from people in our ward. Houston went to Korea and Hawaii. Heath to Uruguay and Taiwan. They had a great experience. While they were having snacks they were looking at a huge map of the world and I asked them where they think they will go on their missions. Houston pointed to Madagascar. Heath to Antarctica.
We have been having a lot of fun taking a pack of hot dogs to the park and having a bbq night. Almost every park here has a grill. S'mores are a must as well. : )
Grandma and Grandpa got these cuties rain jackets. It has been perfect because this year has been SO rainy! This was after church one week.
One day when Matt didn't have classes we all went to the zoo. It was really fun and nice and cool. Soon the polar bear exhibit will be open.
These two.... I love them.
During Matt's last final week ever(!) we were trying to stay out of the house as much as possible. One day we ended up at the Ulysses S Grant National Historic Site. It was fantastic!
Mini stove in President Grant's home office. I'm pretty sure only one log would fit in there at a time. I've never seen one like that.
Houston sitting at his home desk.
I was super impressed with how kid friendly this place was. I had been a little worried, but everything was totally geared towards little kids. Each room had something fun for them to explore and do.
When we arrived the boys each got their very own clip board with a scavenger hunt page to do as we walked through the grounds. Very official. : ) At the beginning we also saw a movie in the theater telling stories about Pres Grant's life. The boys thought that was really cool too.
At the end the park ranger went over their books with them. Checking to see that they completed everything required of them. He was so good with the kiddos he was sincere and asked really good questions.
Then the boys were sworn in as official Junior Park Rangers. They took an oath saying they would continue to seek knowledge and treat the Earth with respect. All good things.
Heath took this all very seriously and wore his Jr Ranger Badge for about a week following.
Our community had a little business expo that the church had a booth at. The kids and I went to check it out and had a wonderful time. We got lots of free samples, candy, toys, and smiles. We also met a sweet old lady named Bev. She and I talked for about an hour while the kids snacked on their stash of goodies. She was in her 80's and was so impressed with our kids. She told me about when she was a young mother and how she wished she knew a lot of what I already know. We talked a lot about the gospel and I told her that that is what helps me in my family. To have the perspective that we are all God's children and are trying our hardest to all work together to make it back to him someday. She was super sweet and I'm glad we went and ran into her.
One day while Heath was at school we took "Mister Flick" (That is what Houston lovingly calls Sister Flick) to her Dr apt. Her Dr office is right next to Forest Park so while we waited for her to finish we enjoyed ourselves outside in the sunshine. : ) Houston was super worried about Hannah falling into the pond. (even though it was pretty far away.)
Houston found a stick and wanted to go fishing. He genuinely thought it would work and sat for a good solid 5 minutes waiting for a bite. Then said, "Maybe the fish aren't hungry today."
These are pictures of the boys shining their shoes for their missionary activity in the morning. They were so proud. (and they are a lot more careful with their Sunday shoes now.)
