Our second week was just as wonderful as our first. We've had so much help from our wonderful friends here. We had friends bringing meals for us each night for almost 2 weeks after Hannah was born. On Pi day our friend brought us Spaghetti Pie and tasty apple pie! It was sure fun.
Its actually not been as hard as I thought it would be adding a new baby in with the boys, and having Matt away at school most of the day. For the most part the boys play together pretty well and are eager to help out by getting diapers or wipes for me or putting Hannah's binkie back in her mouth. Hannah has been sleeping really well at night. She goes to sleep about 8:30 gets up to eat about midnight, goes right back to sleep and eats again at 4-5ish, then sleeps till about 9am. I've never had a baby sleep so well this soon, but I'll take it! It's definitely made a huge difference in the zombieness of the Mommy. I've still been battling this cold, but we're not throwing up, so it's doable in my opinion.

Saturday, the 15th Matt took the boys fishing first thing in the morning. They didn't catch anything, but Hannah and I caught some serious zzz's. Later that afternoon we (when I say we, I mean the boys rode bicycles, I hung out with Hannah inside, and Matt did everything else) cleaned up the garage. It felt SO nice to have that done. While I was pregnanat/going through baby clothes/switching out my clothes that didn't fit, it had become pretty messy. I would ask Matt to get a box down for me that I needed, but then couldn't really put it away.
It always amazes me how much these little ones change in these first few weeks. It seems almost every day from morning to evening her face looks a little bit different. Her skinny skinny little legs are starting to get a little bit chunkier too and it's so cute!
Houston continues to just LOVE Hannah. He talks to her and about her all the time. He's always saving her from something and giving her high fives.
He's also getting really good at spotting H's. When we drive anywhere he always spots them on signs and can write them really well now too. He now tries to find 3 each time he spots one, one for him, Heath, and Hannah.
The other day we had just finished dinner and were sitting in the living room. Houston being our slowest eater in the house was still at the table finishing up (it had been like 45 minutes since we'd started eating, so we'd all moved on)
Having finally finished his meal, Houston came flying into the living room, threw his hands up into the air and yelled, "It's Houston Time!" Matt and I totally lost it. It was so funny!
He and Heath love to play batman and Robbin. Usually Heath is batman and Houston Robbin, but occasionally Heath will let Houston be the batman. There are always a lot of smiles when that happens.
Hannah's first real smile was for Daddy the other day. It was SO cute! I've been getting a lot of the "I'm half asleep in a milk-coma" smiles : )
We had a warm day and coaxed Daddy into taking a study break to go to the park with us. It was SO nice! We haven't played outside for a LONG time! I was trying to remember, and I could be wrong, but I think the last time it was nice enough to be outside was on Heath's birthday towards the end of January. That's a long time to be cooped up in a house for two little boys.
The boys brought their baseball gear and had fun playing in the dirt. Hannah chilled in her car seat under a little blanket for most of the time.
On Monday, the 24th, Hannah had her 2 week check up. She was 7lbs 14oz (35th percentile)
21.5"long (95th percentile) with a head circumference of 13.75" (20th percentile)
After checking her over and pronouncing her "strong and healthy" Dr King was talking about how he's sorry that families like us have to get out and take our newborn babies to the Dr to be checked when they're doing just fine. While he was saying this he was holding Hannah and rocking her back and forth. After a bit he said, "You know, maybe we will have another one." (He and his wife have a little boy and girl, Heath & Houston's ages.) It made me feel good to know that my sweet little girl made someone want to have another sweet little baby at their house.
Houston, "Mom, I'm Gru!" (from despicable me)
The other day Heath was doing the crab walk on the floor and said, "Mom, did you know this is how clompsters walk?" (I'm guessing that's a cross between a lobster and a crab?)
Hannah absolutely LOVES to be in water. It is the time she is the most alert and content. Such a cute little face.
The other night Houston had fallen asleep on the floor. While I was putting him back on his bed Heath started saying with his eyes still closed, " 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, What comes after 5?"
"6"
"oh, yeah, I'm just super tired." then he rolled over.
The next night he was talking in his sleep again, "Cracks.... are faster than cheetahs. Cracks... in the ice....are faster than cheetahs."
(he had just watched frozen, I think he had ice on the brain.)
