I'm a 3 Houston

 Our little Houston is Three! I can't believe how quickly time has flown. 

 Houston decided the week before his birthday to potty train himself. It was seriously the easiest best potty training ever, no accidents. He just woke up one day and wanted to wear unders, and was set. We had told him if he could do it for 5 days we would go to the zoo.  So, in honor of his accomplishment and his birthday being the next day we went to the zoo.  We got there right at opening and got to have some fun in the Children's zoo for free.   

 We saw this huge crazy cool looking dragon fly.

 The butterfly house remains one of my favorite stops.

 Houston wanted to see the hippos. As we were walking back to their area he saw this sign and demanded that I take a picture of him in front of his 'name'.  He NEVER asks for his picture to be taken, let alone stands still for more than 3 seconds so I was very happy to do it, even if it wasn't his name.  

It was his last day to say, "I'm a two Houston."

 The hippos are really cool.  Super huge! They were actually the most active they've ever been for us.

 We got to see a real live cheetah.  Although the boys were a little disappointed that it wasn't running.

 The next day, Houston's actual birthday, Matt had to be at school till about 5:30, and then I had mutual that night.  Heath was supposed to have preschool, but some of the girls were sick so they called it off.  It was probably for the best, so Houston could spend the day with his favorite person. 

We had invited friends from church to join us at the park to play, but it ended up being a cool drizzly day so only one little girl came.   At first the boys were a bit disappointed, but we had a great time regardless.  Every time it would start sprinkling we sprinted for the pavilion, which was pretty fun.

 What is your favorite color?  Mmm… not black.

What is your favorite thing to eat?  Ice CREAM

What is your favorite TV show?  Bill Nye the science wheels

What is your favorite outfit to wear?  No shirts

Where do we live?  At City!

What are your favorite animals? Giraffe 

What does Mommy do for work? nothing

What does Daddy do for work? Fix cars

What is your favorite book?  King Arthur

What is your favorite thing to do outside? Running outside

Who is your best friend? Wevi

What do you want to be when you grow up?  A monkey

 If you could go anywhere, where would you want to go?  Go to Grandma’s house all by myself, and be all awone from my Mommy. 

What makes you happy?  Moms

 What makes you sad?  spankins

What makes you scared? monsters

What is your favorite sport? mmm, Basketball…. or no. no. soccer…. or no. no. baseball…. or tennis…. or not tennis….. It’s football. But I always like runnin.  

What's your favorite flavor of ice-cream?   Chwokwit 

What’s your favorite song? I am a Child of God.

What’s your favorite drink? Milk… no Ice Cream melted.

What’s your favorite breakfast? Pancakes and mommy's syrup (buttermilk) (Saturday he had 6)

What’s your favorite dinner? Shrimpies

 I just love these two. 

 After the park we went home and had lunch, then read the new knight book we'd checked out from the library several times.

 For his birthday Houston got his 3 shirt, a bar of German chocolate from Aldi, (he shared and it was quite delicious.)  and a spider-man costume from Grandma.

 oh, before heading home from the park we went to the boy's favorite grocery store to get some milk and cherry pie filling for Houston's cake.   This is their favorite store because the shopping cart is a race car.  We don't go there very often because Aldi is cheaper and Hannah's carseat won't fit into the cart. Seeing as how it was Houston's birthday though, I strapped Hannah to me and we raced around the store. The people inside are always super nice and usually the boys leave with a treat and a sticker from them.

 Houston was a smart boy and wanted Cherry Berries in a Cloud.  Being his 3 year old self he wanted to make most of it "by myself!" which he did, with a lot of guidance. He did a good job though. He is by far the "best" kitchen helper we have.

 He also wanted to light the candle all by himself.

 We have been spending a lot of time with our new friends the Pratts. Parker is in Daddy's program and they moved into our complex. We've been having a lot of fun with them.  The kids love them.  Parker was locked out of their appt on Houston's birthday so he came home with Daddy.  Houston was so excited when I told him Parker was coming.  He got to have a "friend" over for his birthday cake!  He did ask if Kaitlyn was coming too? He really really likes Kaitlyn.

 When Daddy went to get the mail that night, there was a package from Grandma Fo with some sweet spiderman candles, so what better than to sing and blow out the candles again!

I think we sang happy birthday to him about 30 times over the course of that day.  He kept asking for it again.
