Leaves are falling all Around

Our Stake (group of about 7ish congregations)  recently made  some boundary changes. Because of this we are now attend a new ward (congregation).  We have many friends that will be coming to the new ward with us, but also many friends that will be attending our old ward, and also many new friends that we are making in our new ward.  So it's been a bitter sweet time.
I had been serving in the Young Women's presidency prior to the change.  We had decided to get together with our families for one last shebang.  The Schauman's graciously offered up their home and wonderful back yard complete with leave piles and swings for a little potluck dinner.    Our boys were in little boys HEAVEN!
When we first arrived Houston was pretty scared of the leaves, but after watching the fun all the other kiddos were enjoying he jumped right in.  He spent the whole time we were there running down the hill as fast as he could and jumping into the pile. Such a cute little guy.
Miles, Andrew, Chloe, Houston, Heath

There was a good line up to be thrown into the pile by Matt. It was pretty awesome when those little guys would be swallowed up by the leaves and completely disappear.

I think Houston's face pretty much sums up the evening.  It was AWESOME!

When I have grown a foot or two

Here is a recent belly shot.  This is at 23 weeks. Baby Girl is a gymnast. Lots of moving and kicking going on in there.
Heath calls her Thumbelina

Houston calls her Ballefina

I've been doing well.  Now that my broken rib is pretty well healed I'm a lot more comfortable.  Sleeping is really the only uncomfortable hard part right now.  (& I think a lot of that is the rib)

I went into the Dr today because I was feeling a lot of pressure and she said I'm actually a bit effaced, no dilation though so that's good.   No more picking up Houston!  More sitting for me.

Heath really looks up to our Missionaries here that walk by our apartment every day.

Last Sunday he wanted to wear his "white shirt and a tie like the Missionaries."  After he got ready Daddy pulled out his old Missionary name tag.  Heath was beaming. (although he just wore it around the house, we didn't actually let him wear it to church)

Houston on the other hand.....  : )
Last week for Family Home Evening we had a lesson about putting on the Armor of God.  Both boys loved it and looked so darling.

15 Wherefore, lift up your hearts and rejoice, and gird up your loins, and take upon you my whole armor, that ye may be able to withstand the evil day, having done all, that ye may be able to stand.
 16 Stand, therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, having on the breastplate of righteousness, and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, which I have sent mine angels to commit unto you;

 17 Taking the shield of faith wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked;
18 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of my Spirit, which I will pour out upon you, and my word which I reveal unto you, and be agreed as touching all things whatsoever ye ask of me, and be faithful until I come, and ye shall be caught up, that where I am ye shall be also. Amen.

How many ways can one little boy fall asleep?

The other day Heath was asking me if he and Houston could live together forever.  I told him they could if they wanted to.  He smiled, and said, "YES! I'll be Houston's Daddy and he can be my little boy."  I told him that Houston would be a Daddy too by the time He was a Daddy.

He thought for a minute then said, "That's ok.  We can just live at the same house with our Mommies and Kids."

Sounds good to me.  Can we live there too?

This was Heath's chosen outfit one day last week.   Quite the ensemble.

Houston loves to be a dog lately, and not just any dog, a sled dog.  Too bad we don't have a sled and he has to drag Heath across the floor.  I myself am pretty amazed that he can pull Heath, but I guess them only being 5 pounds apart helps.
Heath is really into schedules and maps right now.  He likes to make a schedule to follow for his day in the morning. (much more on top of things than I am most days)

This is one of his maps.  He was explaining to me where our house was and how to get to his school. (He doesn't actually go to school yet, but loves to pretend that he is)

Heath: "Mommy I want to grow my nails pointy and sharp so that I can catch food in the desert."

These boys LOVE BOOKS! (and Daddy!)

Thanks Aunt Katie, for the sweet beard hat pattern. The boys have very much enjoyed pretending they're Daddies, since all manly daddies have beards.
They think they're so hilarious... well maybe they are.

Heath: "Mommy when Daddy all done with school here can we move to the country and have sheep? I'm gunna be a shepherd when I'm a Daddy, so we need to get sheep so I can learn now."

Sounds like a plan : )
Well here's Matt's Christmas/Anniversary/Valentines/Easter/Birthday presents for a while. : )    Some more of his fun optometry equipment came in last week. He drove to school that day to be sure he and it all made it home safely.  That is about $5,000 worth of equipment right there.

It was sure fun to go through everything and have him "fix our eyes"   The boys were so good and patient, sitting so very still on their chair while Daddy showed us everything.  They must know it was important and special.

These boys sure love doing crafts.

I made apple banana muffins for breakfast the other day.   Heath was saying the prayer and said,

"We thank thee for this delicious cupcake breakfast!"

I hope he wasn't sadly disappointed.

Houston

So Houston turned two a month or so ago... well closer to two months ago....
anyways this Mommy still wants to remember what Houston was like at this age so here goes.

Houston is 38 inches tall and 37 pounds heavy.
(following the wives tale of doubling their 2 year old height, Houston's projected adult height is 6'4''. Just like Daddy)

Houston loves to hide. He will often go missing during the day and we almost always find him in a new place. He hardly ever hides in the same place twice.

His favorite food is probably soup, soup and bread.  He also really likes grapes, bananas, apples and neunack (fruit snacks).

His favorite clothes: his number shirt (the shirt with his age on it) and pants with his rock shoes (crocks) and fishing hat.

His favorite animal: either a monkey or a bull.  He loves to play bulls with Heath and Matt.

Best friend: Heath.

Favorite drink: Milk, by far Milk.  He could probably come close to drinking a gallon a day if I let him.

be sure the sound is up...

Houston loves to pretend he's a super hero all of a sudden.  He wakes up in the morning and asks to put on his "cake" or cape.  He wears it until it's time to put on pajamas.  He often refers to himself as batman or superman.  If he's in one of those moods and you call him Houston he will correct you.

Right now Houston loves to read books, well look at books.  He will hardly ever let me read him a book. He'll say, "No Mommy, I Dowit!" and go sit by himself and flip through the book looking at the pictures.  He very often reads himself to sleep at night.
He loves Curious George.  "Monkey George!"

His favorite color is Red.  He always picks the red things.  Which make life easier,  since Heath always wants blue.
His favorite song:  I love to see the temple.  He always asks me to sing it to him at night.  He usually sings along with me.  He also loves: popcorn popping, the ABCs, I am like a star shining brightly, and you are my sunshine.

He's pretty good at singing the ABC's
 Current phrases:

"No Mommy!" (see above picture)

"Neunack" Fruitsnack

"I dowet" I'll do it myself thank you!

"IsIt?"  what is that?

"He-hers" Heath

Houston's kinda potty trained right now, when he wants to be.
Houston constantly falls asleep in the weirdest positions.  I don't know how he does it.
Favorite breakfast: Pancakes!

He calls our new baby "Ballifina" That's what he thinks we should name her. We'll see.  I know I cried when my sister was born and my parents refused to name her Minnie Mouse.
Houston loves Heath so much.  He follows him around all day saying, "Yeah, okay, Yeah!"   He almost always does whatever Heath wants to do.  They are such good playmates right now.
Heath jammed his finger the other day and Houston was his best nurse.  It was pretty adorable.  He kept leaning down and kissing Heath's hand.

Houston LOVES tv.  If a tv is in sight and turned on, he will turn into a zombie and zone out to watch whatever is on.  When he's getting tired he will almost always come to me and say, "Moomie Mommy?"  (Movie Mommy?)  I'm pretty sure he'd happily watch movies all day any day if I let him.

His favorite toys are: the rocking horse, knight helmets shields lances boots, costumes, balls, bats, tractors, horses, motorcycles/cars, and anything Heath is playing.   He also loves to run.  Run and run and run!
Houston loves hats. He loves to play "batball" but must have a baseball hat to do so.
He's one happy cute little guy!
He also loves to act.
