Last year, just when the sting ray exhibit closed for the winter, we found out that it was free the first hour the zoo was open. Well we waited all winter long and once it reopened we made it happen. Matt had a day where he didn't have clinic. Since I was too afraid to take all of the kids alone, especially with our runner Hannah and a nursing baby we put off all the things we needed to do and went to the zoo to have us some fun. I'm so glad that we did.
The sting rays were so neat. They would swim in a big circle around the pool and come up right under our hands. They felt a lot like a soggy mushroom to me.
Some of them were tiny, and some were huge!
They also had baby sharks in the pool and the kids got to pet some shark eggs. You could see the baby shark inside if it was held up to the light. Really neat.
Since we got there right when the zoo opened we also got to ride the carousel for free. (it is also free the first hour the zoo is open)
The hippos has always been one of our favorite exhibits.
They did not disappoint.
Daddy's favorite is the black rhino. He is SO HUGE!
Lydia did great. She ate about every 2 hours, then mostly slept.

Matt doesn't much care for the smell of the penguin house, but the rest of us love it, and we all love to see the penguins.
The polar bear was snoozin this time. Didn't put on much of a show, but we got to get really close to him.
These goofs are so silly. We are sure going to miss St Louis.
