Christmas with the Ice Cream Grandma

This was Christmas 2013. Last year.

And Christmas 2014. This year.

Who knew we'd add such a little sweetheart to our family?

We spent Christmas Eve with the Ice Cream Grandma. After our concert we all went home had some eggnog ice cream, set out our stockings and went to bed. Grandpa had given himself some sweet Grandpa toys for Christmas, and Houston very fittingly hung his stocking on the handle bar.

When we went home for Thanksgiving Matt went black friday shopping with my Dad and got these bow & arrow sets for the boys for Christmas with a BassPro gift card he'd had. We just thought it'd be something they'd like and was "free" for us. About a week or so later Heath kept telling us that if he could pick any present for Christmas it would be a real bow. He talked about it almost every day. He was SO excited and happy when he opened it. Couldn't have planned any better. Score!

We got to video chat with Jimmy&Tahnee&tribe, and Katie&Nate&tribe. Then we got to talk to Uncle Johnny when he called home from his mission in California. It was so good to hear from him and hear how the Lord is helping him help the people there. He just has 9ish months left until he comes home!

The boys spent the day practicing their bow skills.

Hannah spent the day toddling around checking everything out. She is such a busy little walker.

After talking to Uncle Johnny we went to Spfld to spend some time with the Chocolate Grandma for a while. We came back to Granby for new years. Hannah & I got super sick. We spent about 3 days up in our room in and out of sleep. I couldn't have picked a cuter snuggle/sick buddy though. Even though it wasn't any fun, it was actually really nice to be sick while we were there, since Matt was available to help with everything, and Matt's family helped us so much. If you're going to be sick, mays well do it well.

Christmas Concert

We had 14 days off for Christmas this year. Matt finished his week of finals (which are never very fun weeks for him.) then the day after his last final for the semester started a study course for his national board tests coming up in March. It was all day Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 8am-9pm. Lets just say when he was finished with all of that he was ready to go home and have some fun!

I had done all our (the kids & me) packing so once he was ready Tuesday morning we took off to Hansenland!

Grandma worked with all the Grandkids so they could make their own little Christmas tree ornament from buttons. They turned out super cute! (I'll have to get a picture of one of our finished ones next year... they're already packed up.)

Grandpa got some new toys for Christmas. The little ones had SO much fun riding motorcycles, firetrucks, and buses all over the house!

Mary had an excellent idea. For Mom & Dad's Christmas present this year we held a Christmas Eve Concert and Nativity. Since we are outgrowing the house we held it at the church down the street.

Pete & Amy's kids sang "All I want for Christmas is my 3 front teeth." This was very fitting since Lily is currently missing her 3 front teeth.

After they finished Pete & Amy reminded Bertie she had another song.

She couldn't recall what they were talking about. After some prompting she suddenly realized and gave us that hilarious Bertie laugh!

The song she wrote went something like this, "Jingle bells, Grandpa smells, Grandma is a hag. Oh what fun it is to ride with a stinky bubble gum man!"

We sang, "The Chipmunk Christmas Song & Horsie Horsie" Luke helped us out with his black eye. He and Eddie had been wrestling the day prior & I guess Eddies moves were just too much for Luke.

Katie's family recorded themselves singing and we watched it on Matt's ipad. It was SO cute!
