We got there Tuesday evening and left Friday morning, so it was a quick 2 day visit but we sure had a wonderful time.
We met Grandpa at Chuck e cheese on his lunch break one day. The boys love playing all the fun games and climbing in the tubes. They were both pretty scared at first, but after I went up with them once they were crazies just like normal.
Dad pulled a Nile. When we were kids we would take our report cards to chuck e cheese each year and get tokens to play all the games. After we were finished playing, Nile would go around climbing under all the machines trying to find lost tokens. I'm pretty sure he would average about 10 more tokens than the rest of us. No matter how hard I looked for them, I could never find them like Nile. He just had a second sense for them or something. Anyways, Dad moved this little teacup machine over a bit and guess what was underneath. A token. We had to document it for Nile. (even though I cut the token out of the picture when I took it... oops)
We went to the park with Grandma. It was kind of neat to take the boys to a park we used to live really close to and visit frequently growing up. I have many memories of this place.
Grandma sure has some muscles!
We watched some fuzzy little baby geese for a while. They were so cute!
During conference weekend Heath had made me a little bracelet that I'd been wearing since. On our drive to Springfield I was telling Heath that we were going to spend some time with Kayla because she is going to be moving far far away and we probably wont see her very much/for a long time. He didn't like the sound of it. He said, "Mommy I should give her your bracelet..... would that make you sad?" I thought that was pretty thoughtful of a 3 year old boy to think to give Kayla something, then to realize that it may make me sad to give her something he'd given me. I told him I thought that was a great idea, and that it would not make me sad. Kayla would be so happy to have a present from him. And she was.
One morning we went over to visit Amy & the kiddos. They are always so much fun.
Sweet little Owie boy!
Houston was pretty scared of Molly dog, but I think Molly's getting to be pretty scared of little boys too. She's getting to be so old. Such a sweet little dog.
These two are such good friends. I still think they could pass for siblings.
Tahnee & Morgan showed up too. Houston loves Morgan so much and is really good at saying his name. I just love the way hes looking at Morgan in this picture.
Attack of the 60 toed monster!
Houston loves Kayla so much. He also says her name really well. When we got home from visiting, at least once a day he would walk around the house calling Kayla's name and looking in all our rooms for her.
Last family shot (minus Dallin who was at a track meet & Matt) for a while.
After bidding Kayla & Papa good bye we went with Grandma to watch Dallin run at his track meet. We walked in and right when we got to the bleachers the gun went off for Dallin's 4x200. It was the shortest most effective track meet I've ever been to. We watched his one race and then checked him out and went home. hence the boys were so well behaved throughout the whole thing.
There was a hurdle sitting out off in the corner so I took the boys over and told Heath how Mommy and Daddy used to run over hurdles in races.
He thought it was pretty cool and wanted to know when he could run over them in races. There's a good chance he someday will.
