School

Heath is a school goer now!  This is the outfit he very carefully assembled for his first day of school.  He had it all picked out like days in advance.  He likes that shirt because it has an eagle on it, "for America" and those are his favorite shorts. Such a cute little guy.


Heath just LOVES learning.  If you ask him what he wants to be when he grows up usually he will say a scientist, (sometimes it's a cantaloupe farmer, or a pilot) but usually a scientist, so that he can figure everything out.   Last year he was the one who would remind me that we needed to do school each day.   Needless to say he was REALLY excited for school to start.

 We are doing a pre school co op with a few other friends. We're using the SEEL curriculum  through the David O McKay school of Education.  It is super! All of the activities we've done thus far have been so much fun and very effective.  The kids meet 2 times a week for 2.5 hours.  Each Mommy teaches for one week and focuses on one letter for the week.  So it works out that I teach once a month. I've only taught once thus far and we had a blast! Houston really loves it too. It has been weird on the days when Heath is at school just having Houston and Hannah.  The first couple times Houston just didn't really seem to know what to do with himself.  He seriously has ALWAYS had Heath with him. He's doing better now though.  Heath is loving school and loves his classmates.  Every time it's his turn to pray, he now always includes his "school friends" in his prayer.  It's really cute.  Evelyn, Ava, and Evy.

He's such a good kid. I never really feel like I need to worry about him being a bum while he's at school. We're sure blessed to have our Heath.

 Wasn't he just learning how to walk like yesterday?  Now he's walking away with a smile on his face.

 These boys love books.  I love these boys.

6 Months of Sugar and Spice

 Our little Hannah Jane is 6 months old!

I can hardly believe so much time has flown by, but at the same time I can't really remember a time before she was a part of us.

 I absolutely LOVE this age! So round and squishy and slobbery and smilie!

 She is still a dream baby.  She is so happy all of the time and loves to play on the floor now.  About a week after we came home she started rolling all over the place and hasn't stopped for anything. She can really move.  She loves to chase toys around the living room and the boys love to entice her.  She is really good at spinning in circles on her belly too.

 I love this.  Such a silly goose.

 She seems so close to cutting her bottom front teeth.  The gums are bulging real good and she is so super droolie!  She chews on pretty much anything she can get her hands on.  She is getting really coordinated with her hands and can manipulate things as she wishes now.

We moved Hannah into "the big kid room" so all the kids are together now.  It's been nice because the boys seem to be better about being quiet if Hannah is in there trying to fall asleep too.  She has started going to sleep a bit earlier now. She is usually out by 7pm.  which is super nice because now all the kids are in bed at the same time and I can do what I need to in the evenings. She will sometimes get up about 2-3am to eat, but sometimes goes till about 6:30 then eats and goes right back to sleep till about 9am. 

 She hasn't had much interest in solid foods.  We've tried to feed her something almost every day for the past couple months, but she just doesn't want it.  She spits everything out and makes the cutest disgusted faces.

Tonight I let Houston try to feed her all on his own. (that 3 year old independence) She chomped down almost half a jar of sweet potatoes! I guess it just has to come from the cool older sibling.  We'll see if she will do it again tomorrow.  Houston may be feeding her from now on.

 I just love that sweet little face!

One of my absolute favorite things right now is to get her out of bed in the morning.  She usually wakes in a happy mood and just starts making happy noises in her bed. When I hear them I'll go to get her, and it's almost like magic.  As soon as she makes eye contact with me every ounce of her being just explodes with joy.  She has a big beaming smile and her eyes are almost shut she's so happy. Her little hands and arms start flailing with joy and she starts kicking her little feet in excitement. It seriously is the best thing ever. I have the best job in the world.

 Needless to say, her brothers are completely smitten by her.  They love to play with her now that she is more interactive and mobile. She just adores them. She is always watching them if they are around.

 Heath is her super big brother.

 That binky is her best friend. I love those tired little eyes.

 Hannah is my super sleeper baby.  She will sleep almost anywhere whenever she is tired.  It's pretty amazing.

 Her little toes still contort into all kinds of amazing baby positions. So soft and cute. 

 At her 6 month check up Hannah's stats were:

Weight: 16lb 4oz  (50th%)
Height: 2'3.5'' (95th%)
head:  16.5''  (30th%)

 We all love her a lot!

Houston almost always refers to her as sweetheart.  (and he really accentuates the T at the end of each syllable.)

Upon finding her in the living room he'll usually say, "Hello SweeT hearT" and go snuggle, kiss, or play with her.


Heath usually calls her HannyHannyHannah.  It's almost like he's calling chickens or something, but still super cute.

I usually call her Hannah Jane or Happy Hannah.

Matt usually calls her "My Hannah Jane."

Toes are all the rage these days.

 The boys call this her Popeye face.  They think it's quite hillarious, and I think she knows it makes them laugh because when they respond she does it again and again.
