Happy Heath Day! #4

Heath's birthday was the day we had to pack up and drive home.  It took us a lot longer to get going in the morning than we had anticipated so we ended up leaving Matt's parent's house about 4 in the afternoon, (we had planned to leave about 10am) I actually liked it that way.  It was like we got a whole extra day there!

It was about 55 outside and sunny, so the boys and I enjoyed it while Matt packed up the van.

I don't think any 4 year old would rather spend his birthday any other way. (well maybe if cousins had been there it could have been better)

We walked around and Heath asked me about 100 questions about all the farm equipment.  He's one curious little guy these days.

After saying our goodbyes, we drove to my parent's house to pick up a few things we'd left there.

The boys had both fallen asleep in the car on the way there.  It took Heath quite a while to wake up and be happy.  Poor sad birthday boy.   : (

 But once he was awake again, he was his same old Heath self.  : )     Grandma had made him a "Happy Heath Day" cake. Complete with candles, Ice cream, and party hats, and a couple presents.  Such a spoiled little boy.

Does anyone else see a bunch of vultures hovering over the cake?

So good it got the Popeye face. 

 We sure love you Heath.  You put sunshine in our lives every day.  You're such a happy loving helpful curious little guy! Thanks for being so super!

Grandma & Grandpa got this costume for Heath for his birthday.  He wore every possible piece in the van on the way home, and when we pulled in at 10pm he had to finish the outfit off and run around for a while.  He was one happy little knight!

Last bit of Vacation Fun

 After the big snow storm the snow stayed on the ground for several days.  Poor Heath would beg every day to go out and play in the snow, but it was SO cold we wouldn't let him.  The day everything started to melt we ventured out. 

The boys attacked Luke's snowman in true little boy style.

There were a lot of snowballs thrown.

Houston really liked the snowball fight.  He was following Luke everywhere throwing balls at him. Heath wasn't so much interested.

Then we played us some snowbaseball.

I think Matt's mom will be forever known as the Ice Cream Grandma to our boys. : )

Jim & Mary got a new puppy and brought it over one day to run around.  It was pretty entertaining to watch our boys. They would be all excited and chase the puppy, then the puppy would turn and chase them and they'd take off with a panicked look on their faces.  Heath asked several times after this day if we could get a dog.  He sure liked her.

For not being much of a dog person, I do have to admit, that is one cute little puppy.

The boys slept in a big bed together for most of the time we were there.  It was SO cute to go up every night and see how they'd fallen asleep all snuggled up together.  SO CUTE!

There was one night though...    when I went up to see if they'd fallen asleep yet I found Houston sleeping there completely naked.  Luckily he hadn't wet the bed yet.  There's that two year old boy that hates to wear clothes. I slapped a diaper on him for the pic. (Yes, he is a super heavy sleeper. He also slept through me putting his pajamas back onto him)

We're so grateful for Grandma and Grandpa and all their love and help during our stay.  We had such a wonderful time with them and know they sacrificed a lot to have visitors and two extra crazy boys at their house for over a month!

Sugar cookies with Grandma

Aunt Keela brought some oranges from CA that she picked herself.  They were oh, so tasty!

We made some cupcakes for Heath's birthday celebration.  The batter was yummy according to my helpers.

 One night Heath got into Keela's makeup in the bathroom.  This is how he put it on.  We all almost died laughing when we caught him.

We all went out for lunch the day Kayla was flying out.  She picked Cheddar's.  Its was a fun time & mighty tasty!

We're so glad Kayla was able to come for Christmas! We loved spending time with her, and miss her very much! We're counting down the days till we see her again.
