The Great Bambeedow

The movie The Sandlot has become quite the favorite around our house.  The boys love to push the couch into the corner, throw a ball over then climb over the fence (couch) to sneak the ball out of the 'beast's' back yard, then tear through the living room hollering "The Beast!"

Sometimes one of them will be the beast, and one will be "the kid who has the fast runners shoes." but most of the time the beast is imaginary and they are both the "fast kid"

 

 

 They love to wear "baseball clothes" which usually consists of long socks they swipe from my sock drawer and baseball caps.

Don't mind Houston's nakedness, "I was so sweaty!"

 This was about 4:30pm

 That was about 5:30pm.  They had done something knotty (I can't even remember now) and had been put into timeout, when we went to let them out, Houston was out.

 Heath has been learning a lot about animals lately from the Wild Krats.  He's just full of facts and loves to tell them to anyone who will listen.  He picks up and retains information so well.

We've been very much enjoying our time with Daddy after he's finished working in the clinic for the day.  We've been living the good life.  It makes us look to 4th year and beyond so eagerly. Actually having Daddy around in the evenings.  Who would have thought it could happen?

 It's been amazing how clean our house has been.  He's so wonderful to just do things that need doing now that he doesn't have to do school work.  : ) It's been super fabulous!

Toot Toot Tootaloos

 The end of May was a sad time.  We had to say goodbye to most of our closest friends we've had here in St Louie.  While we weren't able to have all of them over towards the end because they were SO busy! We did get to have some time to play with some. 

It's been so exciting to see where everyone is ending up and hear all their excitement about being finished with school. It's funny to think that when we started school here the Lopez' were in the same position we are right now, just finishing their 2nd year.  Now they are finished! It seemed to go by so quickly.  That gives one hope that graduation really isn't as far away as it sometimes can feel. 

 Little Kenzie came over to bring Hannah some adorable little girl outfits. She is the girl Heath and Houston would always fight over marrying. About once a week one of them would start talking about marrying her and it would soon escalate to screaming at each other about it.  They all were NOT in a picture taking mood.  This was the best we got. : )

 This little girl, I just can't get enough of her.  We are sure going to miss her spunky sweet little personality.  She always played SO well with the boys. She'd just go right along with their little imaginary senarios but would keep them in line if they got too crazy.  She was like a little Mommy to them.  Such a sweetheart!

 When I told Heath his friend Miles was moving to AZ where it's a desert, he was really worried about making sure Miles knew about scorpions and wearing good shoes in the desert.  This was the picture Heath made for him. I thought it was super cute!

 It's a bit sad to think our memories may be our last with all of our great friends here.  

We'll sure miss you all!

Hanging around

 I did something crazy, and put all our toys away.  We only have costumes in our toy closet now.  It seemed that those were really the only thing the boys played with anymore, and then just made a big mess of everything else.   All of the toy sets I put into our "busy box"  the legos, links, tools, cowboys & Indians, animals, and things like that. We just get one thing out of the busy box at a time.  It has been fabulous! There aren't toys laying all over the house and living room now, and the boys actually play with the toys that are out because they haven't seen them in a while. Some days we don't get any toys out at all, they just play imagination and run around the living room acting like dinosaurs, knights, baseball players, sharks or some other fun thing to them right now.  It has been pretty fabulous. They are playing with each other more and getting along together better during the day.

Daddy's back

 With white coat under our wings, I guess Matt decided it was time to say good bye to his long locks. The boys and I had been playing in the living room the night after white coat when Matt called us into the kitchen. We found him laying on the table with a trash can under his head and the clippers plugged in. He let the boys have at it and they absolutely loved it!

He had a pretty good mullett when the boys went to bed, then I finished up the job.  He loos so handsome now.  It has been pretty funny to see peoples reactions to it. There were several people at church that didn't recognize him. 

White Coat

Matt's class had their white coat ceremony the end of May. Now that they've finished 2nd year and passed their white coat proficiency, they are able to work in the clinics and see real patients. 

Hannah and I went to the ceremony. She was super good and slept through the whole 2 hour thing. : )  Several people came up to me afterwords and said they had to see this good baby that they weren't sure was real or not. 

One of their Dr's described Matt's class as the "calm" class.  He said their are "smart" classes, "dramatic" classes, "mean" classes, and this is the "calm class." They have never had anyone on academic probation, not had anyone drop out, never had big fights, they look out for each other and work together so well. He and the other faculty members had really nice things to say about all the students in Matt's class. We're sure grateful Matt was accepted to this program with these people and teachers.  It has been such a great experience for all of us.

 

The ceremony was super long and I think it was mostly because the Dr announcing had a few minute blurb about each student.  It was nice for all of us who don't see them each day to get to know them better, but Matt said it was sure boring for him.   At one point the Dr talking spotted a spider on the podium.  In a panic he said, "Hey! That's a SPIDER!" and flicked it into the audience.  Thankfully it went just to the right of Hannah and me and landed on a couple of girls in Matt's class.  One of the girls jumped up and stomped it.  Quite entertaining. : )

Anthony was our super hero and watched the boys for us! I'm SO glad I didn't take them along. It would have been SO long and boring for them, and lets be honest, quite murderous for me.
Matt has started working in the clinics for the summer and LOVES it! He said if that is what work will be like every day for him he's so happy! He so loves the hands on aspect of optometry and helping people to change their lives for the better.

Congratulations Daddy, we're so proud of all your hard work over these past 2 years.  : ) 

Head over Heels

I got some shots that show Hannah's head pretty well. As you can see the left side has a good flat spot.

 This one shows her ears. As you can see her left ear is farther forward than her right.   She's our little owl.  Heath learned recently that owls have one ear farther forward and one down lower than the other so that they can pin point where their prey is better.  Maybe if we don't do anything about her ears she'll have super sonic hearing.  : )

Feeling Hot Hot Hot.

 It has been in the high 80's - 90's for about a week.  The boys keep begging to go swimming, but we don't really have access to a pool, so while Hannah napped we did the next best thing, a bucket.  It was sure a blast!
